All the oak forest kids are zoned to black and waltrip as well.Īll of this makes us wonder if we should just stay put and not make the trek out to memorial. However, that is rapidly changing as home values have increased and people are investing into the neighborhoods more.īlack and waltrip are atrocious on paper, but are speculated to improve dramatically because of Oak Forest becoming the new West U. I'm assuming you have some knowledge in the schools and know that Sinclair has been slow to change due to families in timber grove and lazy brook not sending their kids to it. The stripes on tabby cats apparently reminded the English people of this special cloth. Interestingly, the French word for “striped silk taffeta” is “tabis.” English people called the cloth “tabby,” short for Attabiya. The silk cloth produced by this district eventually found its way to England, and became very popular. The district itself was named for Attab ibn Asid, who was the governor of Mecca in the early 600s. There is a district in Baghdad called Attabiya, that was known for making beautiful striped silk cloth. The word “tabby” comes from the Muslim world, and a special silk fabric. There are many, many examples of this strategy in nature. The American Bittern, for example, which is a vertically striped bird, stretches its neck up and sways when approached by a predator, looking for all the world just like the reeds in which it lives. The trick isn’t unique to cats, by the way. In fact, this non-agouti gene doesn’t always work perfectly, which is why many solid-colored cats have a hint of striping. The non-agouti gene prevents the hair from producing that lighter pigment while the strand is growing. It’s a gene that just hides the tabby-ness. The non-agouti gene isn’t a “non-tabby” gene. Here’s where you might argue that a solid-colored cat is, in fact, not a tabby cat. In other words, there will be no gene to stop and start hair pigmentation and he will end up looking like a solid-colored cat. But if a cat gets two recessive genes – one from his mom and one from his dad – he will be non-agouti. The agouti gene is dominant, which means if a cat gets even one from a parent, he will have agouti fur and look like a tabby cat. That's how agouti hair strands get their bands of color. Then it slows the pigmentation down in the middle, and then speeds it up again at the end. When a hair is first growing, the agouti gene allows it to be fully pigmented. ![]() The agouti gene messes with pigmentation while each individual strand of hair is growing. The first set of genes that we need to talk about when discussing tabby-ness is the agouti gene, which allows hairs to be banded with darker and lighter colors. ![]() ![]() ![]() Method #2: Search Twitter History with Circleboom Grid Power Search: Also, Delete Old Tweets! ![]() ![]() ![]() “No Hard Feelings” premieres June 23 in US theaters. But credit Lawrence with finding a worthwhile character in a movie that offers unexpected rewards for those who’ll see it, whether that’s in theaters or, more likely, after it wades into the more hospitable waters of pay TV and streaming. ![]() The sequence encapsulates how the film aims higher than one might expect, in a way that, given the current theatrical climate, makes “No Hard Feelings” no easy sell for a studio marketing department. To her credit, Lawrence (who doubles as a producer) lustily dives into that aspect, including a nighttime skinny-dipping scene – as she tries to coax the reluctant, rule-following lad into the water – that underscores how the movie manages to simultaneously be broadly funny, clever (Percy cites the parallels to “Jaws”) and indicative of the hostility that she carries around with her. It’s a form of emotional paralysis reminiscent of “The Graduate,” though to be clear, not nearly that good.įor Maddie, life consists of one-night stands and feeling less-than due to the class distinction of growing up with her nose pressed up against the glass watching the privileged folk on the other side.įeldman’s youthful appearance makes him seem even more vulnerable and the mercenary aspects of Maddie’s task feel dicier. In Percy’s case, the issue involves having shrunken into himself and an online world, and “helicopter parents” that want him to grow up while simultaneously making it harder for him to actually do that. Yet “No Hard Feelings” (a generic title that also indicates the studio didn’t really quite get what they had here) also has a poignant side in exploring the odd friendship that develops between these two characters, each damaged in different ways. Maddie is a little older than what they envisioned as a potential seductress (turning Lawrence’s age into a running gag turns out to be pretty inspired), but she convinces them that women Percy’s age are idiots, and besides, she really, really needs the car they’re offering.ĭirected and co-written by Gene Stupnitsky (sharing script credit with fellow “The Office” alum John Phillips), what ensues could easily have become a bawdy R-rated comedy with lots of over-the-top situations, and there’s some of that. She blames her dire financial straits on the influence of wealthy summer residents to the seaside town of Montauk, where she lives, making it extra difficult on her struggling cohort to get by.Įnter a wealthy couple (Matthew Broderick, Laura Benanti) who place an ad for someone to date (that would be the polite way of putting it) their 19-year-old son, Percy (Andrew Barth Feldman, in a strong step up for the “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” co-star), and “bring him out of his shell” before he enrolls at Princeton. Lawrence’s Maddie is pretty, but she’s also desperate, at risk of losing her house and with her car getting repossessed, particularly bad news for a part-time Uber driver. Part French sex comedy, part “American Pie”-like coming-of-age story, this raunchy vehicle for Jennifer Lawrence also possesses darker and deeper streaks that elevate it above its “Pretty. ![]() “No Hard Feelings” is the kind of hard-to-characterize movie that isn’t served by a splashy ad campaign, in mostly good ways. ![]() ![]() That means the group spans ages 11 to 26 in 2023. This means that one of those kitchen outlets is "upstream" of all the others and the power flowing from the breaker panel passes through that outlet on its way to all the others in the kitchen. If your house is older you probably have a single circuit providing power to all of the outlets in the kitchen. Replacing all of them would be a real bear and it isn't necessary. Replacing them is time conusming but fairly easy as electrical projects go. If you have the old steel wall boxes they are simply too small for GFI outlets. However e did use it on one circuit where we just could not fir a GFCI inot any of the outlet boxes on that circuit.Īnything in a kitchen, bathroom, garage, unfinished basement or outdoors should have GFI protection.Ĭoldjensens makes a good point about GFI outlets "not fitting". If it trips, you have to go into the basement to reset it. You an get a GFCI breaker to protect the entire kitchen circiut(s) That is expensive and not as convenient. OUr inspetor required every outlet in the kitchen to be GFCI protected. (Hopefully that makes sense to those more knowledgeable about these things.) The original electrician apparently did this because he had a problem with the GFCI constantly tripping, and rather than solve the problem he just dropped the other outlets off the circuit, leaving none protected in the two upstairs bathrooms. We discovered through an inspection that each subsequent outlet had been wired by dropping each from the circuit rather than running the circuit through it. A circuit looped from the downstairs powder room up to two bathrooms on the second level. I found this to be the case in a prior house I owned. For certainty, each outlet should be tested. One point worth noting: It's possible to wire a circuit such that the downstream outlets are not protected by the GFCI outlet (even though they are all on the same circuit). Good luck on the remodel and it is refreshing to see safety is a concern with your project! Since you are asking about GFCI's, have you ensured all of your bathroom outlets are protected? Another area is all 15 and 20 Amp receptacles servicing countertop areas and/or within 6' of wet bars and sinks in other areas? Another very important place are exterior accessory outlets and garage outlets as well. ![]() If you do not have a dedicated outlet for the refrigerator you might want to consider handling this while doing the remodeling. However, there is always the possibility the GFCI can trip, without you knowing it, and be off for extended time periods. Most newer GFCI outlets can tolerate refrigerator motors cycling on and off without nuisance tripping. You can leave this refrigerator outlet on the existing branch circuit being serviced by the GFCI. On many older homes the branch circuit used to service the refrigerator was often times part of the outlet branch circuits. I would expect this is an older home that was never equipped with GFCI's? One thing to be careful and take note of. That would be the outlet that is closest to the serving breaker (not necessarily physically closest but electrically closest), if you can easily identify that outlet. You would only need one GFCI outlet on the first outlet of the branch. That would include any outlets on walls, behind wet areas (sinks, etc.) that have features such as countertop breakfast bars on them (open counter surfaces above sinks used to sit at on the opposite side). ![]() In kitchens all outlets that serve countertop surfaces should be equipped with GFCI outlet protection.
